Planning approved

Plans for the redevelopment of the former Toys R Us store and Homebase store were approved by Reading Borough Council and their Planning Committee meeting on Wednesday 10 January. The plans will now be referred to the Secretary of State for final approval before work will begin later in 2018. More information about the purchase or rental of new homes will be found at

Following on from public consultation last year, L&Q have now formally submitted a planning application for delivery of 765 new homes, including affordable homes, on the existing Toys R Us and Homebase site in the heart of Reading (application number 170509). Thank you to everyone who turned up at our public exhibition yesterday, we had a great turnout at the Bel and Dragon and even the weather stayed nice for us. If you missed us you can still catch the team at Waterfest on Saturday 11 June (we’ll be on the riverfront by the Homebase building itself) or view the exhibition boards here.

On Saturday 11th June 2016, from 11am - 5pm we are providing another opportunity to preview the proposals for Kenavon Drive. We will have a stall at Waterfest along the riverfront by the Homebase store.
